About NSS

As per the instructions of the Madhya Pradesh Higher Education Department, the National Service Scheme Unit 1 was started in the college in the year 1994 and the second unit of the National Service Scheme was started from the session 2024-25. The overall goal of the National Service Scheme is to give a larger dimension to the higher education system and to inculcate in young students an understanding of community service at a time when they are in college. Various activities are organized throughout the year by the unit of National Service Scheme and a seven-day special camp of National Service Scheme is organized at God Gram every year so that the students can contribute for the benefit of the society along with their own development.

Objectives –

  • Understanding the community in which volunteers work.
  • Understanding of themselves as compared to the community.
  • Identify the needs and problems of the community and become a partner in the problem-solving process.
  • Develop a sense of social and civic responsibility in oneself.
  • To use their knowledge in finding practical solutions to individual and community problems.
  • Developing the ability to live in community and share responsibilities.
  • Acquiring skills in community participation.
  • To develop leadership qualities and democratic tendencies.
  • To develop capacity to deal with emergency situations and natural disasters.
  • Maintaining national integrity and social harmony.

Goal

The goal of the National Service Scheme is – “Not me but you.” It reflects the spirit of democratic living and emphasizes the need for selfless service and understanding of the other person’s thinking and concern for other human beings. This shows that the welfare of an individual is dependent on the welfare of the society as a whole and hence the objective of the National Service Scheme should be to reflect this objective in the day-to-day program.

The next plan:

  • To develop the personality of the students through various activities of the National Service Scheme.
  • Keeping the premises clean and fulfilling the goal of plastic free council.
  • Organizing blood donation camps.
  • Conducting a survey of sickle cell anemia.
  • Organizing various programs for voter awareness.
  • Organizing special camps at Godagram.
  • Organizing various programs for environmental protection.
  • Making efforts for de-addiction under de-addiction campaign.
  •  Campaign against child labour through Child Protection Club.
