Eco Club

About Eco club:

Eco club of the College serves as catalysts for environmental action, promoting a sense of responsibility and encouraging sustainable practices both locally and globally. They play a significant role in shaping environmentally conscious citizens who are committed to making a difference in the world around them. In our college Eco club was started in the year 2020. Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Government of India has changed the earlier National Green Core Scheme to Environment Education Programme (EEP) from the year 2022-23 with an aim to strengthen the non-formal environmental education activities.

Objective:

The main objective is to develop children’s understanding of environmental problems, to make them aware of society and to bring students in direct contact with various environmental problems.

Focused Activities:

  • Workshop: Workshops, trainings, orientation programmes on environmental topics etc.
  • Competition: Painting, essay, slogan writing, quiz, debate, street play, etc.
  • Campaign: Cleanliness drive, prevention of single use plastic, cleaning of rivers and ponds etc.
  • Exhibition: Exhibition of Environmental Models, Seed Bank, Biodiversity Component, Environment Fair, Eco Club Corner etc.
  • Nature Camp: One day

Vision and Mission:

  1. It is a forum through which students can reach out to influence, and engage their parents and neighborhood communities to promote sound environmental behavior.
  2. To empower students to participate in and take up meaningful environmental activities and projects.
  3. To empower students to explore environmental concepts and actions beyond the confines of a syllabus or curriculum.
